MAY BE YES.....MAY BE NO
This is an ZEN story..,
There was a farmer whose only horse ran away. That evening the neighbors gathered to console him. " Your farm will suffer, and you cannot plow ", they said.
" Surely this is a terrible thing to have happened to you "
He said, " May be Yes, May be No ".
The next day the horse returned but brought with it six wild horses, and the neighbors came to congratulate him and exclaim at his good fortune. " You are richer than you were before ! " they said.
" Surely this has turned out to be a good thing for you, after all ".
He said, " May be Yes, May be No ".
The following day, his son tried to ride one of the wild horses. He was thrown and broke his leg, and he couldn't work on the farm. Again the neighbors came to offer their sympathy for the incident. " There is more work than only you can handle, and you may be driven poor, " they said.
" Surely this is a terrible misfortune ".
The old farmer said, " May be Yes, May be No ".
The day after that, conscription officers came to the village to seize young men for the army, but becaude of his broken leg the farmer's son was rejected. When the neighbors came again, they said, " How fortunate ! Things have worked out after all. Most young men never return alive from the war.
'' Surely this is the best of fortunes for you !".
And the old man said, " May be Yes, May be No ".
tells that.....
OUR LIFE IS LIKE THAT.
It offers no lesson to anyone.
What seems right today may turn out to be wrong tomorrow.
You have to then unlearn the old lesson and learn a new lesson.
Those who think that they have learned any lesson from life are actually like the villagers of this Zen story who don't understand the mysteries of life.
They don't understand that for every thesis, there is an anthithesis.
Let me explain..,
- When you beloved cheat you for another person, you learn a lesson that people can't be trusted.
- When you invest in share and lose all your money, you learn the lesson that you should not invest in shares.
- When you find a corrupt officer living the life of luxury, you learn the lesson that it is foolish to be Honest.
- When you work hard to get a job and succees, you learn the lesson that you got the job due to you hard work.
None of the these lessons are UNIVERSAL TRUTHS that happen to everyone every time.
What happened with you was a result of numerous factors at tha point of time.
Since the same situation is never going to arise in future, you can't use the same lessons in future.
Your life could be even more miserable if you stop trusting..,
People can make huge money investing in stocks..,
A corrupt person may be arrested and go to jail..,
Many people succeed working smart rather than working hard.
It is for this reason that I don't learn any lessons from life because there is no lesson taught by life.
What worked once does not work next time.
" Life is a game and you have to play the best shot depending upon the stroke life played against you. You cannot win the game of life if you keep playing the same shot with it all the time ".

WHAT HAPPEN TO THE WOOD CUTTER ?
WEST AFRICAN STORY ABOUT TROUBLE..,
Bwana Shida was going out to chop wood one day for a fire. He was working to fell it on a hot day and he was almost finished when... " Suddenly he heard a roar behind him and scrambled up the the tree lickety-split. Lion...!! He looked down and saw a lion... but just as he thought he had gotten to safety high up in the tree branches, he turned and saw a.... What dangerous animal do you think might be in the tree ? Yes, A Poisonous Snake...!! He thought to himself " I'll just jump in the river where the snake and lion won't follow me, but when he looked down, he saw another sharp row of teeth waiting for him. Crocodile...!!
Bwana Shida dangled in the breeze, threatened every which way by aggressive dangers. He'll die ! Things only got worse for Bwana Shida as the wind began to pick up and make it difficult for him to keep his gri after he was already tired from working. Nonetheless, Bwana Shida said to himself, " I'm just going to hold on as long as I can and wait to see what happens.
Just when the fortune seemed most impossible to turn for the better: The wind made the tree fall, which pinned the lion and snake, and the sound of the mighty tree cracking sent the Crocodile into a watery skedalle that took him out of predatory reach. To his astonishment, Bwana Shida walked away unharmed.
MORAL: When things are tough you have to hold on, and that when things are tougher you have to hold tigher, because you never know what the wind may blow your way.

CUTE LETTER FROM A NEWLY MARRIED GIRL TO HER MOTHER.
MY MOTHER..,
MY ROLE MODEL..!
Dear Maa,
Like every normal girl, I was excited about marriage right from my childhood days. I never thought beyond the time that I would spend happily with my prince charming.
But today when I am married, I realize that marriage is not all roses. It's not just about being with your beloved and having a happy time. There is so much more to do it. It comes with its own share of responsibnilities, duties, sacrifices and compromises.
I can't wake up anytime I want to. I am expected to be up and teady before everyone else in the family. I can't laze around in my pyjamas throughout the day. I am expected to be presentable every time. I can't just go out anytime I want to. I am expected to be sensitive to the needs of the family. I just can't hit the bed anytime I want to. I am expected to be active and present around the family. I can't expect to be treated like a princess but am supposed to take care of everyone else in the family.
And then I think to myself, " Why did I get married at all ? " I was happier with you, maa. Sometimes I think of coming back to you and getting pampered again.
I want to come home to my favourite food cooked by you every evening after a nice outing with friends. I want to sleep on your laps like I have no worry in this world. But then I suddenly realize, had you not got married and made such sacrifices in your life, I wouldn't have had so many wonderful memories to hang on to. And suddenly, the purpose of all this becomes clear - to return the same comfort, peace and happiness to my new family that I got from you.
And I am sure that as time would pass, I would start loving this life equally as you do. Thank you Maa for all the sacrifices and compromises you made. They give me the strength to do the same.
I Love you Maa..!!
I Love you Maa..!!

ABOVE FATHER NO OTHER
A poem by SAGAR SHARMA,
At age 8, Your dad buys you ice cream.
You thanked him by dripping it all over his lap.
At age 9, He paid for piano lessons.
You thanked him by never practicing.
At age 10, He drove you all day from soccer to one birth party after another.
You thanked him by jumping out of the car & never looking back.
At age 11, He took you & your friends to the movies.
You thanked him by asking to sit in a different row.
At age 12, He wanted you not to watch certain TV shows.
You thanked him by not listening.
At age 13, He suggested a haircut.
You thanked him by telling him he had no taste.
At age 14, He paid for a month away at summer camp.
You thanked him by never writing him.
At age 15, He came home from work, looking for a hug.
You thanked him by ignoring him.
At age 16, He taught you how to drive his car.
You thanked him by sneaking out with it.
At age 17, He was expecting an important call.
You thanked him by being on it all night.
At age 18, He cried at your graduation.
You thanked him by staying our partying.
At age 19, He paid for your college tuition,
drove you to campus & carried your bags.
You thanked him by saying bye outside the
dorm so you wouldn't get embarrassed.
At age 25, He helped to pay for your wedding
& told you how much he loved you.
You thanked him by moving far away.
At age 50, He fell ill & needed you to take care of him.
You thanked him by reading about the burden parents become to their kids.
And one day, He quietly died.
Everything bad you did came down on YOUR HEART.

ABOVE MOTHER NO OTHER
She Kissed My Forehead And Tucked Me In.
She Is Happiness.
She Is My Mother.
Telling our Mother I Love You is like a Child telling I Love Icecream.
The mere people who waits for this day and wish their Mothers are those who stay at distance from them. Because distance prove us the value of love and people especially, Mother. Mother is a Wonderdful Woman who never knows to skip things and take rest even for a while. She deserve more than words and gifts we share her this day. Mothers are Mothers.
Nothing can beat the Happiness of wishing our Mother, A Happy Mother's Day by a handwritten letter telling her, How Beautiful She Is...!!
A Poem by ANITA MARATHE,
HOW CAN YOU BE BEDRIDDEN ?
You were fit for seven decades mom!
You were always agile,
Eternally a caring Mother,
How did your health all beguile?
You used to be up and active,
Even before the sun and the cock,
We have never seen you ailing,
And they say there is now vessel block!
Sleep would bewithch and entice us,
But you would still with hands full,
With the numerous chores to get done,
Before you hit the bed with a mind cool!
I never saw you brushing your teeth,
As it was always done before I awoke,
Languishing in bed was never the thing,
You did even if we would provoke!
You slogged so that we could relax,
And accompanied us in our hours of strife,
Did you never wish to live for yourself,
Getting sick of being a good mom and wife?
We all would grumble about smallest grievances,
But you took everything in stride,
No cosmetics could vie in adoring your face,
When it was resplendent with your material pride!
Did you never play with dolls or wet earth?
Did you never misplace things or lose calm?
Were you never lazy or lethargic?
We're you described to care by the lines on your palm?
We faced harsh or salubrious times,
And you were a pillar of strength,
We took it for granted, o maa!
That you would be there for our life's length!
Then one day you shook us dear,
We trembled to the core,
When they inserted tubes and needles,
To put you at ease but to scare us more!
The doctors are going for a by-pass,
To bring comfort as of old,
We will leave no stone unturned,
To have you with your original heart of gold!
All these years you conditionally cared,
For your darlings you did nothing spare,
So that you can forever be there,
And life is again bountiful and fair!!
