AM I USELESS ?

Once there lived a man who fetches water from a nearby pond to his master who lived on a hill. He fetches water in two pots tied up at two ends of a long stick, which rest on the shoulder with two pots at ends. One of the two pots has a leak that whenever this man fills it up near the pond and by the time he reaches his master's house, the water in the leaking pot would become one - fourth whereas the other pot was intact.

That was the daily routine and still the man didn't change the damaged pot. One day the damaged pot asked this man :-

Pot : Oh man ! I am a worthless pot and I always leak. You throw me away as I'm good at nothing and get a new one like another which is intact.

Hearing this, Man laughs and asks the pot to keep calm and observe the adjacent region on the left of the road they take every day.

The pot obeys and watches the barren land with no beautiful flowers until they reach the master's house.

Pot : What is there in that land ? I just found barren land with grass and dust.

To which the man Smiles contently and ask the pot to watch the other side of the road.

The pot notices a beautiful garden with full of flowers and it gave a fresh look.

Pot : Wow ! This is a Picturesque beauty, can't even believe.

Man : You should believe my pot, because it is the beauty made by you ! Everyday when we pass through this road you water those plants whose seeds I have sown. You watered it and made it a Incredible reality.

MORAL : Never underestimate yourself. You may not fit to do some pointed things, but you can make some small wonders.

IS THE STRING MATTERS ?

Father is flying a kite, His son is watching him carefully, After some time son says "Dad, Because of the string the kite is not able to go any further higher".

Hearing this, the father smiles and breaks the string. The kite goes higher after breaking of the thread and then shortly after that it comes and falls on the ground. The child is very dejected and sad.

The father sits next to him and calmly explains, "Dear Son, in life we reach a certain level of prosperity and then we feel that there are certain things in our life that are not letting us grow any further like Home, Family, Culture, Relations, Friendship etc.,

We feel we want to be free from those strings which we believe are stopping us from going higher. But, remember son -  Going higher is easier than staying at the higher level.

And Family, Culture, Relations, Friendship etc., are the things that will help us stay stable at the high heights that we have achieved. If we try to break away from those strings our condition is similar to the kite."

AN EXCHANGE

A boy and a girl were playing together. The boy had a collection of marbles. The girl had some sweets with her. The boy told the girl that he will give her all his marbles in exchange for her sweets. The girl agreed. The boy kept the biggest and the most beautiful marble aside and gave the rest to the girl. The girl gave him all her sweets as she had promised.

That night, the girl slept peacefully. But the boy couldn't sleep as he kept wondering if the girl had hidden some sweets from him the way he had hidden his best marble.

MORAL: If you don't give your hundred percent in a relationship, you will always keep doubting if the other person has given his/her hundred percent.

IS THE GLASS HALF FULL OR HALF EMPTY ?

THE BATA SHOES STORY :

This story perhaps holds one of the simplest yet most profound and important messages of all, for all of us.

At the end of the nineteenth century, just as colonial Africa was opening up as a market, all the manufactures of shoes in Victorian England sent their representatives to Africa to see if there might be an opportunity there for their wares.

All duly came back in time with the same answer.
"Nobody in Africa wears shoes. So, there is no market for our products there."

But the Bata representative came back saying, "Nobody in Africa wears shoes. So, there is a huge market for our products in Africa !"

And that's why signs promoting Bata appear all over Africa, even in the remotest of spots. It's why Bata's shoes are known as the Shoes of Africa.

MORAL: It's all about how we look at things and how we see them. It illustrates why being good at looking is a quality well worth cultivating.
